Hillary Shows Her Political Age.

I often write about what I see as the collision of the two power cores in politics, the aging DC legacy establishment and the new real world of politics that knows that access to information is changing the landscape forever. See here, here and here.

I predicted that we would see some might spin out of Iowa, but the clarity of the results slowed it down a touch, but no one showcases the clear lunacy of a legacy campaign than the email that Hillary Clinton sent out on Thursday night to her supporters.

Did she thank them for their help in Iowa? Nope.

Did she thank the staff many working for pennies? Nope.

Did she take any responsibility for her poor showing? Or promise to learn and get better?

Nope.

What she did was ask for money.

And as anyone who can read knows, she raised over $100,000,000 last year but hey, her third place finish and ability to continue in the race?

But today, I'm turning to you to help fund crucial activities in New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina and beyond.

Make a contribution today to help me win.

We're not just working to prevail over other candidates in a hard-fought contest for the Democratic nomination. This is about more than that. It's about our unyielding determination to reclaim our country from an administration that has failed us, betrayed our trust, and undermined our values.

That's why these next few days matter so much. I'm doing everything I can to drive our campaign to victory and I know you will do the same.

With your help, we can win. Make a contribution now.

Hillary Clinton has spent over $40 million to date in this race - with a bronze medal to show for it. The issue isn't money, the issue is a poorly-run campaign driven by polling and faded vision.

She has spent over $9,000,000 on salaries, $3,500,000 on postage, close to $2,000,000 on polling - TWO MILLION DOLLARS and 236,000 people have voted so far hah -

The issue is that she, and her senior advisors, don't realize that the Internet killed the triangulation star.

The issue is it's 2008, not 1992.

The issue is we know she voted for the war and didn't read the classified intelligence before she voted.

The issue is clearly not money. (besides she has over $50,000,000 cash on hand.)

She, and her staff should be ashamed and embarrassed.

And anyone undecided in New Hampshire should read that email and come to a single conclusion.

"wow, she just doesn't get it."

Poor form on Hillary's part.

Contrast that with Obama who hasn't asked for money since he won Iowa!

How much money has Barry spent?  Thought so!

Re: Hillary Shows Her Political Age. (2.00 / 1)

Marion Barry hardly spent anything. He's back in the DC City Council but he doesn't really raise money like he used to or need to spend it cause he's pretty much automatically elected.

Robert Novak called it (2.00 / 1)

I don't like that snake, but his column about
"premature triangulation" will go down as the VERY MOST ACCURATE of the season.   She tacked to the center BEFORE the win was done.

Democrats want an actual democrat.  Now, my first choice would be Edwards or Richardson, but Obama will do, as he has not already compromised himself.

Re: Hillary Shows Her Political Age. (none / 0)

Clinton had more more than Obama going into Iowa. She HAS the money to spend. It is not money driving this race.

No time to spend money now (none / 0)

At this point, events will play themselves out as they come.  5 days is not enough for any amount of money to affect anything.  What will affect things is the bounce from Iowa.  As the consequences of Iowa settle in, people are changing their minds.

OOOKKKAAAYYYY - what's your point? (none / 0)

You obviously have some deep point here - why not just state it, instead of these coy little hints?

Re: Hillary Shows Her Political Age. (2.00 / 1)

umm this is ridiculous.

She thanked and congratulated EVERYONE on thursday, including Obama, Edwards, Dodd, Richardson, and Biden.

Furthermore, yesterdays fundraising push was planned A LONG TIME AGO.

It was national day of momentum for HRC, regardless of what happened in Iowa.

NYC alone had staffed phone banks set up by community organizers in 6 locations (i think... there was East Village, Village, Times Square and i think 3 other locations).

Furthermore, it was happening across the entire state.

The emails were for other who arent on volunteer lists or might have just signed up on the site.
